for the development of high-performing, sustainable buildings. By meeting requirements in various categories—
including Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy and Atmosphere, Materials and Resources, Indoor
Environmental Quality, and Innovation and Design Process—companies can accumulate points toward Certified,
Silver, Gold or Platinum environmental ratings.
GREENGUARD The Greenguard Certification Program is an industry-independent, third-party testing program
for low-emitting products and materials that assists architects, designers, product specifiers and purchasing
organizations in locating, specifying and purchasing off-the-shelf, low-emitting products for indoor environments.
Greenguard-certified products have been tested to ensure their chemical and particle emissions meet acceptable
IAQ pollutant guidelines and standards.
ISO 14001 2004 is an environmental management standard. It specifies a set of environmental management
requirements for environmental management systems.The purpose of this standard is to help all types of
organizations to protect the environment, to prevent pollution, and to improve their environmental performance.
